Location : On the mainland of South East Sulawesi,bordered by the kolaka, Konawe, and
Morowali districts of Central Sulawesi.
The geographic conditions on North Konawe is hills and mountains located between lowlands
and seashore. The Area has potential for nthe development of farming, planations, fishery,
forestry, and mining.
TAIPA CAPE BEACH
Taipa Beach is located to the north of kendari city, about 67 km from the center of the city. The
Place can reached by vehicle. The uniqueness of this beach lies in the fact that the Maleo bird
nests around the beach. The is sloped with black sand which is the place the maleo lays its eggs.
The beauty of Ocean panorama and the jungle around the beach makes this place more
Attractive. The jungle is challenging for hiking, and there is a bat cave inside. You can spend
Your beautiful afternoon and see hundreds of bats fly out from their nest. There are cottages
and restaurants with special food around the beach.
BAT CAVE
It’s a cavelocated in front of Taipa beach. There are hundreds or even
thousands of
Bats inside the cave. To reach the cave , the tourist must pass through a rocky, sheer hill
shaded by
leafy trees. This place is suitable for those who like and adventurous holiday, because of its
hard
geographic conditions combined with beautiful nature. The unique place in the cave is a wall on the
stone that is sacred to local people.
ASERA PREHISTORICAL CAVE
The cite is in the kars hills, surrounded by the Lasolo river. The complex of the Asera
Prehistory cave, North konawe was explored by an archeologist from France in 2005. From
the expedition, they found earthenware vessels, kitchen garbage, and a picture of hunting
activity hand stenciled in the wall.
Based on the obyects found in the cave, it’s estimated that the site is about 1000 – 5000
years old. The area around the cave abounds in natural beauty and suits the tourist who
likes adventure and historical tourism.
